The association was created in 1939 by Madame Léonie Gardeau

 

Its purpose is:

• Research and collection of all objects offering the museum a historical, artistic or artisanal interest .

• The organization of visits and showcasing of the collections.

​

• The organization of events and exhibitions around them.

​

• The creation and management of the documentary and written collection of Léonie Gardeau and its digitization.

​

• Creation and management of a website dedicated to the museum, its collections and its resources.

​

• Publications and editions of research within it.

​

The role of "Friends of the Museum" is essential in the transmission of rural cultural heritage.
